Lyn Haskins
RESEARCHER

Lyn Haskins is a registered nurse and midwife with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. She has additional qualifications in community nursing, primary health care and occupational health nursing. Lyn has extensive experience in training and teaching health workers both within the formal educational system, having co-supervised a number of students at Master’s level, as well as updating and supporting health workers to improve the quality of care in health services.
For the last decade Lyn has worked as a researcher and project manager on a number of large research projects and has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journal. Lyn has worked across different provinces in South Africa as well as the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Growing Partnership for Higher Education and Research in Nutritional Epidemiology – GROWNUT. Funded by Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) through Norwegian Programme for Capacity Development in Higher Education and Research for Development (NORHED) My role is research facilitator / supervisor and researcher.
An evaluation of the effectiveness of e-IMCI implementation compared to standard of care in primary health care clinics in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Funded by Elma. My role is researcher and project manager.
