Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team attended the 1st Annual Africa Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare organised by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in Durban. The KZN Department of health (DoH) supported the forum and participated in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and strategies.


South Africa was honoured to be in the presence of International health and healthcare experts from Africa and across the globe, including Muhammad Pate (MD and Former Minister of Health, Nigeria); Vuyiseka Dubula (General Secretary, Treatment Action Campaign, South Africa); and Donald Berwick (MD, MPP, President Emeritus and Senior Fellow, IHI, USA) amongst others.
CQI team will be conducting trainings in four districts to address the gaps identified during visits to sub district nerve center meetings. The aim of the training is to equip and mentor program managers with CQI strategies to lead the program in their districts.
